Kevin J. Burnsworth, 53;

Golf Professional In Bay State

Kevin Burnsworth

ONEONTA - Kevin James Burnsworth, 53, son of Carole and Charles Burnsworth, died on June 2, 2017 in Lancaster, Mass. where he was working as a golf professional at Shaker Hills Country Club in Harvard, Mass.

Kevin was a standout athlete at Oneonta High School, earning nine varsity letters as captain of the school’s golf team, and played on the soccer and basketball teams. He also played as a pitcher for the American Legion team and once pitched a “No Hit” game. In 1982, as a senior at Oneonta High School, he won the New York State Golf Championship at Cornell University.

He attended Old Dominion University on a golf scholarship, and graduated in 1986. After qualifying for membership in the PGA of America, he worked as a golf professional at nine different courses, four of them as the head golf professional.
