Missing Bronx Man

Found Dead in Roxbury

ROXBURY – State Police reported this afternoon that the body of Christian Rojas-Martinez, 22, Bronx, was recovered earlier today, after being reported missing by his companions shortly after midnight on Jan. 21.

Martinez was allegedly camping with six other men at a home on 521 Old Ferris Farm Road, in the town of Roxbury over the weekend. The friends told police that he wandered away from the campsite at around 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 20 and did not return.

His body was found inside a body of water in the area being searched. State Police were assisted in the search by two NYSP K-9s, NYSP Aviation, NYS DEC, NYS Forest Rangers, Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies, Delaware Emergency Management Agency, Town of Roxbury Constable, and fire department and EMS personnel from Roxbury, Grand Gorge, and Hobart.

The investigation is ongoing.
