Hops for History Scheduled

ONEONTA—The Greater Oneonta Historical Society will host its annual Hops for History bar crawl fundraiser from 2-6 p.m. on Saturday, August 15. Participants can pick up their wristbands from the History Center between 2-4 p.m. before sampling local food and beer and progressing to six favorite downtown bars. The evening will end with live music by Andrew Carrington and Friends at 7 p.m. Tickets are on sale at the History Center and Eventbrite, with discounted options for GOHS members, large groups, and non-alcoholic beverages. The price includes a commemorative beer tasting glass and all proceeds support GOHS.

Antonucci To Discuss Brant

ONEONTA—Frank Antonucci will present a discussion of Haudenosaunee leader and key figure of the American Revolution Joseph Brant at the Swart-Wilcox Museum’s next Summer Sunday event from 1-3 p.m. on Sunday, July 26. The talk is free and open to the public. Lawn chairs or blankets are recommended.

Art Day Event Is Saturday

VAN HORNESVILLE—The Van Hornesville Community Center will host a free Art Day from 2-4 p.m. on Saturday, July 25. There will be guided drawing, watercolor and crafting classes in addition to open studio with supplies. A barbecue to support local programming will be held from 4-6 p.m.

Danielski To Host Art Pop-up

COOPERSTOWN—The Art Garage, 689 Beaver Meadow Road, will host a three-day open studio residency for international artist Lewis Danielski from noon to 4 p.m., July 24-26. He will create and display an assortment of salvaged-metal sculptures and discuss his artistic process. Several will be available for purchase. Smithy Exhibition Now Open

COOPERSTOWN—The Smithy Gallery’s summer exhibition, “Cultivated,” is on display through Saturday, August 29. The invitational and member exhibit examines the many meanings of gardens and is open 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday. The Smithy will be closed on Saturday, July 25 for Induction Weekend.

‘Figure This’ Has Summer Hours

COOPERSTOWN—Cooperstown Art Association’s popular “Figure This!” live model drawing sessions will not be held on July 22 or August 12 while the CAA Kids Summer Camps are running. Dance Company To Perform

FRANKLIN—Franklin Stage Company will present a dance concert with New York-based company Dual Rivet Dance at Chapel Hall, 25 Institute Street, July 31 through August 2. Parade of Legends Returns

COOPERSTOWN—The Hall of Fame Induction Weekend Parade of Legends will kick off on Main Street, Cooperstown at 6 p.m. on Saturday, July 25. Featuring more than four dozen returning Hall of Famers in addition to the new inductees, the parade will begin at Lake and Chestnut streets before progressing to the Hall of Fame. It is expected to last about 75 minutes and will be livestreamed at mlb.com.

Seaver Collection on Display

COOPERSTOWN—The National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum will exhibit its Tom Seaver collection in a new display for Induction Weekend, July 24-27. The Class of 1992 inductee left much of his personal collection to the museum when he passed away in 2020. Pathfinder Hosts Big Rig Event

EDMESTON—Pathfinder Village will bring together a massive collection of big rigs and vintage automobiles for a day of family fun from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday, August 4. In addition to the vehicles, the evening will feature free Gilligan’s ice cream, face painting, food trucks, live music and a balloon lift-off, weather permitting. The event is free and open to the public. Bassett Lauded for Stroke Care

COOPERSTOWN—Bassett Healthcare Network earned the American Heart Association’s 2026 Get With The Guidelines Stroke Gold Plus quality achievement award for timely, research-based stroke care. Get With The Guidelines is a nationwide program that brings the American Heart Association and American Stroke Association’s expertise to bear in hospitals, alongside the most recent research.

25 Main Hosts Art Exhibit

CHERRY VALLEY—25 Main Collective’s “Artists of Glimmerglass” exhibition, featuring work by artists working in all stages of Glimmerglass Festival productions, will be on view through August 2. There will be an artists’ talk to discuss their work and life behind the scenes at the opera at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, July 29.

4-H Alumni Photos Requested

COBLESKILL—Cornell Cooperative Extension Schoharie and Otsego Counties extended its deadline for 4-H alumni, family, and volunteers to submit photos for their “Traveling Down Memory Lane” display at the Schoharie County Sunshine Fair on August 11-16. Photos of past 4-H members, events, projects, groups and trips may be submitted by Friday, July 24. Library Offers Garden Tour

Fenimore Events Planned

COOPERSTOWN—Glimmer Globe Theatre will present Shakespeare’s comedy “As You Like It” at the Fenimore Art Museum’s Lucy B. Hamilton Amphitheater at 7 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday evenings through August 13. Seating is outdoors and attendees are encouraged to arrive early and bring a blanket or chair. In case of rain, the show will be moved to the Fenimore auditorium.

Museum Senior Vice President Joshua Torrance will discuss the work of 19th-century American painter Edward Lamson Henry and the broader Colonial Revival movement at the Fenimore’s next Deep Dive event at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, July 28. The 19th Annual Art by the Lake sale and show will take place on the lawn from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, August 8. Ying Quartet To Close Festival

COOPERSTOWN—Cooperstown Summer Music Festival’s final concert of the 2026 season will be held at Fenimore Farm and Country Village at 7 p.m. on Monday, August 17. It will feature the Grammy-winning Ying Quartet and CSMF Music Director and flutist Linda Chesis for a program of chamber music from Haydn to Dvořák. Gas Rises as War Resumes

UTICA—The average price of gas in New York State rose seven cents to $4.14 over the week ending Monday, July 20, AAA Northeast announced. Crude oil prices rose more than $11.00 per barrel over the course of last week as the makeshift ceasefire between the U.S. and Iran broke down. Despite strong refinery production, constraints on oil inputs and high but not spectacular demand have driven domestic gasoline stocks to 12-year lows. Market conditions going forward are highly unpredictable due to the conflict in the Persian Gulf.
