Patrick R. Materazzo, 86

Served in the Navy, worked in aerospace

Patrick Materazzo

Sidney – Patrick Materazzo, age 86, of Sidney, lost his courageous battle with cancer on January 28, 2021 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Amsterdam, NY on May 1, 1934 to Luigi and Concetta (Testa) Materazzo.

Pat graduated from Amsterdam High School and Mohawk Valley Community College, and proudly served in the U.S. Navy.

He worked for over 30 years in the aerospace engineering industry before retiring to enjoy time with family, cars, and motorsports.

Left to cherish Pat’s memory is his loving wife of 62 years, Josephine, and their children Louis (Tammy) Materazzo, Larry (Sharon) Materazzo, and Lisa (Brent) Craig; granddaughters Miranda Materazzo and Shayla Baldwin (Tyler Hart); siblings Elvira (Steve) Simeone and Susan Rowley as well as many nieces and nephews.

Pat is predeceased by his parents and sisters Ann Materazzo, Natalie Biasini, and Josephine Petrosino.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am on May 22, 2021 at Sacred Heart Church, 15 Liberty St. Sidney, NY 13838.

Burial with military honors will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Bainbridge.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Pat’s memory can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at stjude.org;  501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38015.
