Struck By Car, Teen

Life-Flighted, Dies

UNADILLA – A 15-year-old was struck by a car Monday evening while walking in Unadilla died this morning, according to State Police.

Edward A. McKinley II, 15, was walking in the westbound shoulder of Main Street in the Town of Unadilla when he was struck by a 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe that was also traveling westbound.  Mr. McKinley was transported by helicopter to Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse with severe head and body injuries and succumbed to these injuries earlier today.

The driver of the Hyundai, Michelle L. Swift, 47, Unadilla, was not injured.  She was found not to be intoxicated or impaired by drugs.

The accident scene was investigated by the  State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit and the investigation is continuing.
