Police: Suspect Snatches

66-Year-Old Woman’s Purse

ONEONTA – Police are seeking the identity of a white man accused of pushing a 66-year-old woman onto the ground and stealing her purse on River Street yesterday afternoon.

Police responded to the attack at 3:15 p.m. and learned that a male pushed a female victim to the ground, grabbed her purse, and fled in a southbound direction on Gilbert Street. Responding officers and detectives canvassed the area for the subject, and the victim was treated for injuries she received during this incident.

The suspect was described as a white male, 5’5”-5’6” tall with a slim build. He was reported to be wearing a dark colored hooded sweatshirt and tan cargo pants. No further description is available at this time.
