Public Hearing Set To Ban

Tobacco In Oneonta Parks

ONEONTA – Four public hearings are scheduled when Common Council meets at 7 p.m. Tuesday, including one on a law to ban smoking, chewing and “vaping” in public parks and Muller Plaza.

The other three are:

  • on $2.7 million in Community Development Block grants, for income-property rehabilitation, Market Street stormwater disposal, a raw-water transmission main, reservoir-dam improvements, and “microenterprise” grants.
  • on amending the “Trees” section of the city code to allow removal of “nuisance trees” from private property that effect rights-of-way
  • on amendments to a city code provision on sewer rates.

If Council members wish, they can vote that same night after the hearings are complete.
