IN MEMORIAM

Rev. Douglas Deer, Retired Pastor

Of Cooperstown Baptist Church

The Rev. Douglas Deer, pastor of Cooperstown Baptist Church for 21 years before his retirement on Aug. 31, 2014, passed away this morning in a Boston hospital, according to the Rev. Joseph Perdue, his successor. The pastor and his wife Susan had moved to Cortland to be nearer their daughter, but often visited. Above, Pastor Deer chats with Tim Iversen during a Jan. 18 visit to attend the 100th anniversary birthday party for the dean of local Baptists, Homer Osterhoudt.   Arrangements were not yet available, but will be posted here when they are.
