IN MEMORIAM: Richard Simmons, 64, Mechanic

OTEGO – Richard “Simm” Simmons, 64, of Otego, an auto mechanic and woodworker,  passed away Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2017.

Simm was born in Oneonta, the son of Earl and Ida (Collison) Simmons. He married Lisa Toth at St Mary’s Church in Oneonta on May 4, 1991.

Simm was a mechanic who enjoyed woodworking in his spare time.

He is survived by his wife Lisa; his mother Ida Simmons; his brothers Earl (Jane), Steven (Kathy), Dave (Pat); his sister Deborah (Brent) Scott; several nieces and nephews; his canine friends Annie, Lucy and newest edition Simon and his beloved cat Fluffy.

Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers a donation is Simm’s name may be made to the Susquehanna Animal Shelter, 4841 St Hwy 28 Cooperstown, NY 13326. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.johnstonfh.com Arrangements are by the Johnston Funeral Home of Morris.
