SQSPCA Welcomes Visitors for the ‘Miracle Nine’
COOPERSTOWN—The Susquehanna Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals announced today, August 21, that the nine miracle Great Dane puppies who survived parvovirus are ready for visitors.
“We had an incredible amount of support for these puppies, which we are so grateful for,” said Executive Director Stacie Haynes. “We want to welcome our community that rallied for these puppies in to meet them before they head off on their next journey into homes.”
Haynes shared in a press release that, while the puppies are not available for adoption yet, they are cleared for visitors. Anyone wanting to socialize with them can visit the SQSPCA, located at 5082-5088 State Highway 28 in Cooperstown, this Saturday, August 22, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and/or on Monday, August 24, when the shelter will be open special hours from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. just for puppy socialization.
“So many have supported these puppies from afar and we want to give those people the opportunity to show love to these little miracles whose lives they helped us save in person,” said Haynes.
Families interested in adopting these Great Dane puppies are advised to stay tuned for an upcoming announcement that they are available, officials said. This message will be shared on the Susquehanna SPCA Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/SQSPCA

“We can’t thank the kind people who have supported our mission by contributing, sending supplies, volunteering, fostering, and even sharing words of encouragement enough,” said Haynes. “Knowing we have a community standing behind us that loves animals as much as we do makes all the difference.”
Haynes shared that this milestone in the nine miracle Great Dane puppies’ journey also marks the official reopening of the SQSPCA’s dog wing without restrictions. The SQSPCA is open for visitors to interact with adoptable animals Tuesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Available animals can be viewed online anytime at www.sqspca.org.
