HARTWICK – Jean Elizabeth Jensen Field, 89, who with husband Fred ran a farm in Pleasant Valley, died at home Aug. 22, 2019.  Six children survive.

Born Oct. 4, 1930 in Merrickville, she was the middle child of Harold and Elizabeth Jensen of Otego. Raised in the Seventh Day Adventist faith, she graduated from South Lancaster Academy, South Lancaster, Mass.

At age 21, she married Fred S. Field of Hartwick at the Baptist Church parsonage. She always said she should have known what she was in for when Fred didn’t have the $5 to pay the minister!

N.J. Native Raised 4 Sons In Cherry Valley

CHERRY VALLEY – Beverly Viola Lounsbury Garretson, 89, a farmer’s wife active in her church and community,  was called to her eternal resting place on Monday, June 24, 2019.

She was born at home in Plainfield, N.J., on Feb. 23, 1930, to Fred and Viola Lounsbury.  Beverly graduated from Plainfield High School in 1948 and went to Nursing School at Muhlenberg Hospital in Plainfield, attaining her Registered Nursing degree in 1951.

She married Edward (Bud) Garretson on Feb. 23, 1952, in Plainfield, at the First Presbyterian Church.  They lived in Blairstown, N.J.  In the spring of 1970, they bought a farm and moved their family to Cherry Valley .

WEST EDMESTON – Bonnie J. Beach Jones, 66, of West Edmeston, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday May 30, 2019 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Bonnie was born in New Berlin, the daughter of the late Rupert and Elizabeth Ryan Beach. In addition to her parents, Bonnie was predeceased by her twin brother Myron Beach.  She married John Jones on Aug. 7, 1971, in Bridgewater, at her parents’ home.
