3 Arrested In Stabbing

ONEONTA – An early morning confrontation on Chestnut Street Saturday resulted in a stabbing and the arrests of Avi Ray Fiqueroa, 25, Oneonta, Nancy E Callahan, 37, Richfield Springs, and Future S. Clovis, 16, Oneonta.

Police were called to Fox Hospital at 6:45 a.m. Saturday with reports of a victim with a non-fatal stab wound to the upper buttocks.

The investigation revealed that the victim, who police did not identify,  had been walking on Chestnut Street near Fonda Avenue when the confrontation ensued.

The three were arrested for assault, second degree, a class D felony, and conspiracy, fifth degree, a class A misdemeanor.  Additionally, Clovis was charged with menacing, second degree, and criminal possession of a weapon, fourth degree, both misdemeanors.

If convicted, Fiqueroa and Callahan both face up to eight years in prison; Clovis faces nine years.  All three suspects were held for arraignment in City of Oneonta court.
