‘Transformative’ Means 20 Jobs,

New Otsego Now Plan Concludes

otsegonowlogo copyONEONTA – Otsego Now’s new strategic plan, adopted by its board of directors last month, defines a “transformative project” as a new company that employs 20 people.

The plan came out of two sessions last November, facilitated with the directors by Peter Fairweather of Fairweather Consultants, New Paltz, and it concluded that the former IDA should be “a catalyst for economic transformation of Otsego County.

It goes on, “In Otsego County in 2013, 90 percent of all private firms had fewer than 20 employees.  Therefore for these purposes, any project creating or retaining 20 or more private sector jobs (or the full-time equivalent) is considered transformative.”
