Meeting Set For Wednesday Evening

On CCS Teacher’s Child-Porn Arrest

By JIM KEVLIN • Special to www.AllOTSEGO.com

COOPERSTOWN – At the request of the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Cooperstown Central School is organizing a meeting Wednesday evening so parents and members of the community can get their questions answered on the Justin Hobbie case.

Attending will be Beth Coombe,  who heads the U.S. Attorney’s Office Criminal Division in Albany, and a representative of the National Center of Missing & Exploited Children, according to Supt. of Schools Bill Crankshaw.

Crankshaw was told “no new information will be coming out,” and that Coombe, who requested the meeting, told him the idea is to put people’s concerns at rest.

The meeting will be at either 6:30 or 7 in CCS’ Sterling Auditorium.

State troopers and Homeland Security officers arrested Hobbie Friday at his Springfield Center home and charged him with receiving and distributing child pornography.
