The legitimacy of any financial institution is dependent on the level of debt income ratio. Drop in debt income ratio affects sustainability and trust in the system. “In God We Trust,” In Money We Must. Deficit spending is the Achilles’ heel of financial institutions. Kicking the can down the road only adds to vulnerability, like killing the goose that laid the golden egg.
