Back From Romania, Marine

Thanks Pupils, Shares Story

Back from deployment in Romania, Marine Jeremy Denmeade of Richfield Springs thanks pupils in Ann Szwejbka's third=grass class at Cooperstown Elementary School this afternoon.
Back from deployment in Romania, Marine Jeremy Denmeade of Richfield Springs thanks pupils in Ann Szwejbka’s third-grass class at Cooperstown Elementary School this afternoon for sending him letters from home while he was in Eastern Europe.   The letter-writing exercise followed a visit to the classroom last fall by a community member familiar with Romania.  A 2012 graduate of Richfield Springs Central, Denmeade is home on leave for a few days.  His mother, Laurie Pestar, is a Cooperstown Elementary secretary.  Pupils listening raptly, from left, are Waylon Cassell, Jonah Hitchcock, Max Scharf and Claire Kapusniak.(Jim Kevlin/AllOTSEGO.com)

  1. Given we don’t have a democracy anymore, it makes little sense to send troops to other countries–the Middle East for example, which has always been one, hot mess–but the Suck wouldn’t be any fun without deployments, in peacetime, or otherwise.
