Up Otsego Lake a mile though, Thistle-class national qualifying races got underway off the Otsego Sailing Club about 12:45, delayed from 10 a.m. but not cancelled. At least two crews, Joy Martin and her husband, John Baker, from the Senaca Yacht Club, Geneva, and the three-generation Hudson team from the Saratoga Sailing Club – granddad John, 70, dad Dave, 50, and grandson Peter, early 20s – plan to compete at the 2016 Thistle Nationals at the Eugene Yacht Club in Oregon in late July.
