HALL OF FAME CLASSIC 2017

Whats’ More Patriotic

Than National Pastime?

It seemed like the whole world was standing at attention – more realistically, just all of downtown Cooperstown – as Fly Creek’s Joelle Lachance‘s astonishing voice performing the National Anthem filled Doubleday Field and much beyond at 1 p.m. today. The 10th annual Hall of Fame Cooperstown Classic, featuring Hall of Famers and Major Leaguers, began soon after.  Opera singer Joelle, a CCS grad who went on to study voice at Nazareth and Boston University, returned to her hometown last Christmas to sing solo soprano in Handel’s “Messiah” at Christ Church here.   Woodside Hall has invited her to perform a recital there this summer; details forthcoming.  (Jim Kevlin/AllOTSEGO.com)
