In Death Of Morris 11-Year-Old

James R. Brower

MORRIS – James R. Brower, 36, of 961 Route 33, Norwich, is under arrest, charged with first-degree murder in Sunday’s death of an 11-year-old girl from Morris.

No further details were provided in a press release issued at 9:44 a.m. today by Trooper Nathan Riegal, Troop C public information officer.

At 11:13 a.m. Sunday morning, troopers from the Norwich barracks responded to a call to the home, where they found Jacelyn D. O’Connor of Morris in “cardiac arrest.”  “Further investigation determined the decedent was the victim of a homicide,” the initial press release, issued yesterday, said.

Brower was arraigned before Chenango County Judge Frank Revoir, who sent him to county jail without bail.  He is scheduled to appear at 9 a.m. tomorrow in Norwich Town Court.

The Chenango County Sheriff’s Office and the Chenango County District Attorney’s Office assisted with this investigation.

The investigation is ongoing.  Anyone with information is asked to call the Norwich barracks at (607)-334-3296.
