IN MEMORIAM: Kim J. Hughes Wiltsie, 62;

Mother Of 4 Was Gilbertsville Valedictorian

OTEGO – Kim Joy Hughes Wiltsie, 62, lost her battle with pulmonary hypertension, high blood pressure, on Feb.13, 2019.

She was born in Ilion, to William and Ellinor Hughes.

Kim was a 1975 graduate of Gilbertsville Central School and class valedictorian.

She loved to read, travel and be with her family.

She was so smart that at gatherings her family could challenge her to a game of Trivial Pursuit and she would surely win. Kim will be missed but we will see her again.

She is survived by her husband of 33 years, David; children Adam (Kari) Birdsall, Stephanie (Tony) Lane, Caitlin Wiltsie and Jensen Wiltsie; parents Bill and Ellinor; sisters Carol Hay, Cindy (Jeff) Costley, Lisa (DJ) Baird; mother-in-law Rosemary Wiltsie; beloved grandchildren Jack and Alex Birdsall, Nick and Ana Weinbrenner, Evelyn and Jorgie Lane; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles; and devoted canine companions, Rocky and Barkley.

Calling hours will be 10 a.m. to noon, Saturday, Feb. 16, at the Lewis, Hurley & Pietrobono Funeral Home, 51 Dietz St., Oneonta.

In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution in Kim’s name to the Pulmonary Hypertension Association, 801 Roeder Road, Suite 1000, Silver Springs, MD 20910.
