2 Troopers Injured;

Father, Son Charged

WORCESTER – Two troopers were injured, one punched in the face, trying to break up a fight along Interstate 88 near here yesterday afternoon.

The episode began when Otsego County 911 received a call at 4:24 p.m. of two males fighting alongside I-88.

A trooper responded and tried to verbally break up the fight, but Gary Lubrano, 65, Cobleskill, allegedly attacked the trooper. His son, Michael Lubrano, 34, followed suit, according to state police.

Troopers from Troop G also responded.

By the time it was over, one officer sustained a facial injury, the other sustained a hand injury. Gary was also injured, all three were transported to local hospitals, treated and released.

Both were arraigned on charges of assault in City of Oneonta court. Other charges pending.
