‘Bomb Cyclone’ Unlikely

Here, But Snow Predicted

This Accuweather map shows how Upstate New York may fit into the regional picture.

Otsego County may avoid a “bomb cyclone” of drenching rain, coastal flooding and heavy interior snow that Accuweather is predicting for the Northeast at the end of the week, but local impacts may nonetheless be significant.

AllOTSEGO.com’s service, Weather Underground, is predicting a Winter Storm Watch from Friday morning through Saturday morning, with heavy snow possible.

As much at 5-10 inches may fall, winds could gust as high as 35 mph, and blowing and drifting is possible Friday night in Otsego and surrounding counties.

A Winter Storm Watch means there is potential for significant
snow, sleet or ice accumulations that may impact travel.
