CCS GRADUATION 2019

Under Sunny Skies,

74 Receive Diplomas

William Z. Friedman, top photo, one of CCS’ four top scholars in the Class of 2019, poses with his sister Renee, herself a top scholar four years ago who graduated last month from Harvard, Phi Beta Kappa and magna cum laude, and mom Leslie B. Friedman, attorney and Otsego town justice. The scholars are also the children of the late Dr. Shep Friedman, the Bassett orthopedic surgeon.  The other three top Class of 2019 scholars are Josie Hovis, Genevieve Landry and Kai Wasson.  Lower left, grad Morgan Stockdale received not only her diploma, but certification to become a welder. Lower right, Vernon Mendez, with guide dog Yoni, shakes hands with Supt. of Schools William Crankshaw after receiving his diploma from Marcie Birch, CCS school board president. At the podium is Jim Brophy, retiring high school principal.  Under sunny skies and  gusty winds, 74 seniors, including four foreign exchange students, received their diplomas in a ceremony on the back lawn of The Fenimore Art Museum, overlooking Otsego Lake.
