IN MEMORIAM: Gary T. Fisher, 60,

Otego; Landscaper, Auto Enthusiast

OTEGO – With deep sorrow we share the passing of Gary Thomas Fisher, 60, of Otego.

Gary passed with his loving family by his side Sept. 4, 2019. Gary is now reunited with his son, Kyle Faulkner; parents, Thomas and Eleanor Fisher; and beloved dog, Spyke.

Gary was well-known for the love of his boys, grandchildren and friends.

Gary could be seen around town in his Chevy Blazer with lawn mower in tow, off to his next client to do landscaping for them. He was very meticulous about his work. Gary was known for his handyman skills and the saying, “There isn’t anything Gary can’t do or fix.”

He loved sitting around with friends playing cards, foosball and listening to classic rock. He enjoyed classic cars. He was known as a “Motörhead” from working on cars in the garage with his boys, tinkering with stereos and working with glass. He enjoyed the Walton fair each year, especially the demolition derbies.

Gary loved life and always had a big smile to greet everyone.

He leaves behind his loving sons, Nicholas and Justin Fisher of Otego; grandchildren, McKenna and Nicholai and their beloved dog, Turbo; his significant other, Michelle Zimmerman; his sisters, Tammy (Brian) Gardepe of Myrtle Beach, Brenda MacDonald of Walton; brothers, Brian Fisher of Oneonta, Timothy (Lori) Fisher of Davenport; Phillip Young, who he considered a son; his cousin, Frank (Suzanne) Fisher, Oneonta, whom he thought of as a brother; several nieces, nephews and cousins; a great friend, Kim (John) Hendricks; many friends and extended family.

Burial will be in the Walton Cemetery at 1 p.m., Friday, Sept. 13.

Celebration of life will be at 1 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 14, at his mom and dad’s.
