Ladder Died, Police Report

ONEONTA – The Oneonta man who reportedly fell off a roof while working on a Swart Hollow Road home yesterday was pronounced dead at Fox Hospital, state police confirmed today.

At 11:35 a.m. Wednesday, troopers responded to a report of a male, Troy G. Anderson, 56, having fallen approximately 20-30 feet from a ladder.

Anderson was assisting the homeowner with outside repairs when for an unknown reason fell off a ladder, state police said.

The homeowner called 911 and  AMR ambulance and Oneonta Fire & Rescue began administering life-saving measures prior to the arrival of troopers, but to no avail.

The investigation is on-going, but no foul play was observed and it appears to be an accident.
