IN MEMORIAM: Linda L. Briggs, 62;

Ran Home Daycare For 30 Years

Linda Briggs

MARYLAND – Linda L. (Sutton) Briggs, 62, passed away on November 22, 2019 at Albany Veteran’s Medical Center.

She was born September 5, 1957 in Oneonta, the daughter of Robert and Carol (Munson) Sutton.

Linda graduated from Andrew S. Draper Central School in Schenevus.  She served in the United States Army, where she met the father of her 3 children, Luis Lopez.

Linda dedicated her life in helping others.  She sacrificed much, always putting the needs of her children and others above her own.  She owned and operated a daycare in her home for 30 years, touching the lives of numerous children including her three adopted sons.

Linda is survived by her sons, Luis “Tony” and Shelly Lopez, Cristobal “Toby” Lopez, Roberto “Tomy” and Taylor Lopez, Anthony Hyer, Shiquill Briggs, and Hakiym Briggs; grandchildren, Philip Morell, Mya Lopez and Avery Lopez; her mother, Carol Muehl; brother, Robert Sutton Jr.; sisters, Lisa Cooper and Stacey Camilleri; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was predeceased by her father, Robert Sutton and husband, Richard Briggs.

A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, December 14, 2019 at the Schenevus Valley Masonic Lodge, Main St., Schenevus.

Burial at the Schenevus Cemetery will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Albany Stratton VA Medical Center, Volunteer Services, 113 Holland Ave., Albany, NY 12208 (General Purpose Veteran’s Fund)
