It Was Worst Of Parking Machines

Brian Paterno, in left,, photo, is one lucky retailer: His Paterno Brothers is right next to the most profitable Pay & Display Machine, meaning the parking places in front of his store are filled more than any other during the summer months. According to figures compiles by Trustee Cindy Falk and reported to the Village Board today, the machine generated $31,034 this season, 80 percent of its capacity. At right, the machine that sits forlornly on the north side of Upper Main Street generated on $4,121, a mere 11 percent of its capacity. At its annual assessment of its paid-parking program, the trustees decided on one change next year: To increase time limits from 2 fo 4 horus on two blocks: Main west of the traffic light, and Chestnut north of traffic light.
