Turmoil At Otsego Now,

And Homer Simpson, Too

Just as its three-year economic-development drive is bearing front in Oneonta’s $14 million downtown redevelopment program, a potential distribution center at Schenevus and other initiatives, Otsego Now’s board of directors appears ready to head off in a new direction, seeking a full-time CEO that makes the future of the architect of the current successes, Sandy Mathes, unclear. The three new board members put in place by county board Chair Kathy Clark, R-Otego, in the past year have formed a new majority that is pushing the idea. And, by the way, Homer Simpson will be celebrated at the Baseball Hall of Fame this Memorial Day Weekend. All in the week’s Hometown Oneonta & The Freeman’s Journal, on newsstands now.
