Diane Catella Iandiorio, 73;

Active In Civic Life, Church

ARNOLD LAKE – Diane Catella Iandiorio, 73, a civic leader who also was active in the Catholic Church, died on Easter Sunday, April 16, 2017, in Florida, where she spent winters with her husband.

Diane was born on Staten Island, the daughter of Louis J. Catella and Marie Riche Catella. She attended Notre Dame Academy, Hunter College, and then New York College of Music, where she received a bachelor’s in music.

In 1964 she married Dr. James A. Iandiorio, also of Staten Island, and they later relocated to Upstate New York, where she initially worked as a music instructor within the SUNY system at Bugbee School in Oneonta. She then ran her husband’s chiropractic practice, as the office manager, for over three decades.

Above all else, Diane was intensely committed to her family, her community, and the Roman Catholic Church. She was actively involved in community organizations including being prior president of the Oneonta Concert Association, serving as the Women’s Auxiliary Chairperson for the New York State Chiropractic Association, teaching English as a second language at the Women’s Circle in Boynton Beach, Fla., and acting as a lay minister at St. Mary’s Church in Oneonta, and, later, at St. Mary’s “Our Lady of the Lake” in Cooperstown.

Survivors include her husband, her four children, David L. Iandiorio, Gianina M. Gohde, Michelle J. Iandiorio, and Peter A. Iandiorio; her seven grandchildren, Christian Gohde, Emma Gohde, Riley Gohde, Gretchen Moore, Hailey Iandiorio, Antonia Iandiorio and Christopher Iandiorio; and many members of her extended family and her wide circle of beloved friends.

She was predeceased by her parents and her brother, Ronald J. Catella.

Friends are invited to greet the family 5-7 p.m. Friday, April 28, at the Lester R. Grummons Funeral Home, 14 Grand St., Oneonta, NY 13820.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 29, at St. Mary’s in Cooperstown, with Rev. John P. Rosson, pastor, officiating.

Burial will take place in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Index, NY.
