IN MEMORIAM:  Doris L. Miller, 88, Oneonta;

Criss-Crossed United States With Husband

ONEONTA – Doris L. Miller, 88, passed away May 23, 2017 at the Bridgewater Rehabilitation in Binghamton.

She was born July 15, 1928, in Oneonta, the daughter of Fred and Nellie (Sargeant) Leonard.  Doris grew up in Laurens where she graduated from Laurens Central School.

She married Donald L. Miller. The couple loved travelling across the country between New York and California. They celebrated their 50th Anniversary while living in California several years before Donald passed in 1991.

Doris worked in the steam room at a drycleaners in Oneonta, and was a nurses’ aide most of her working years, lastly working at Otsego County Infirmary.

She is survived by her son, Donald M. Miller Sr. and wife, Ellen, of Mount Vision; two daughters, Linda Miller of Overland Park, Kans., and Donna McInerny of Garden Grove, Calif.; a daughter-in-law, Youvonne Miller; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband, Donald L. Miller; a son, Gary Miller; grandsons Mickey Miller and Michael Miller; and a half-sister, Elena Ruth Spoor Sessions.

Calling hours will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with the funeral service at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at Lewis, Hurley & Pietrobono Funeral Home, 51 Dietz St., Oneonta. The Rev. Keith VanDewerker, pastor of the Fellowship Baptist Church in Unadilla will be officiating.

Interment will follow at the Oneonta Plains Cemetery.
