K-9 Units Training Over Cooperstown

If you’ve noticed an unusual amount of air traffic over Cooperstown today, you have been witnessing the training of NY State’s newest K-9 units! 14 dogs and their handlers, including Atiba Celestine and dog Raya, above, were on site at the helipad across from the Clark Sports Center this morning. to acclimate their dogs to being in and around helicopters. After each dog and handler were securely placed in the helicopter they flown around at different heights to get the dog used to flight. After this, the dogs and handlers will be released into the field to finish the final nine weeks of their schooling. (Ian Austin/AllOTSEGO.com
