Unatego Central Seeks Bids

To Reuse Otego Elementary

The Unatego Central School District announced a few minutes ago it is seeking a buyer for ornate and elegant Otego Elementary.

UNADILLA – The Unatego Central School District is soliciting proposals for “repurposing” the former Otego Elementary School, the district announced a few minutes ago.

Working with a community-based Repurposing Committee, the Board of Education is inviting developers and others interested in purchasing the property, consisting of a 47,800-square-foot two-story building and approximately 4.8 acres of adjoining land.

“We are looking for proposals that will be beneficial to the village and a good fit with the needs of the residents and school district,” the announcement said.

The decision was made in the summer of 2017 not to reopen the school that fall, and students were reassigned to the district’s other elementary school, in Unadilla.

A Request for Proposals (RFP) is available online at www.unatego.org.

Interested parties may also call the District Office at 607-988-5038 or contact the school by mail:
