Burton I. Lobdell, 93;
Grew 50-Truck Fleet

ONEONTA – Burton Ivan Lobdell, 93, who grew his trucking company from one truck to a 50-vehicle fleet, passed away Saturday, Oct. 20, 2018, at the Chestnut Park Nursing Home with loved ones by his side.
He was born in the Town of Butternuts, on Oct. 26, 1925, and lived locally all of his life.
Burt was best known for his trucking company, starting with one flatbed truck picking up cans of milk from the local farmers, expanding to delivering bulk feed, spreading lime and later operating a paving business. At one time he had a fleet of 50 red trucks, with "Burton Lobdell Trucking" on the sides.
