Alex, Barbara Shields Renew

Vows On 40th Year Of Marriage

Renewing their vows after 40 years of marriage, Alex and Barbara Shields receive the blessing this morning from Father Dane Boston, rector, Christ Episcopal Church, Cooperstown, during Sunday mass.  The husband is a retired county representative from Richfield Springs, representing the towns of Richfield and Springfield. His wife, a retired teacher, was a longtime member of the Republican County Committee. After today’s mass, the Shieldses hosted a reception in the parish hall that included a performance by Irish stepdancers, plus a traditional corn beef and cabbage lunch. (Jim Kevlin/AllOTSEGO.com)
