Baskin Robbins/Dunkin’s

Plan Cooperstown Outlet

Village Hall has been approached about locating a co-branded Baskin Robbins/Dunkin’ Donut outlet in the long-vacant lot at the corner of Route 28 and Walnut Street on the south end of the village, Mayor Ellen Tillapaugh Kuch advised the village trustees this week. Check back for further details later this evening.

  1. Concerning Baskin Robbins/Duncan Donuts interest to locate in our town area, I think it would be a great mistake if approved. Imagine how many tourists would give their $$ there before coming into the village! We need to honor and protect our local business owners of the bakery, coffee cafes, and restaurants! Also the “no franchises” reflects our life style values and charm of our community! There’ll be a problem too re the Walnut location creating added congestion in an already busy, narrow road!! Plus will students want to eat and hang out there? Please say no and protect our community as we’ve learned from too many short term rentals in that area and now don’t let this be another money maker with tax income.

  2. Wrong spot. That is a high traffic spot with children walking to school, school buses, & parents driving kids to school &picking the up. The Commons would be a much better spot.
