IN MEMORIAM: ‘Bud’ Gallup, 63,

ONEONTA – Burdette L. “Bud” Gallup, 63, a career-long carpenter, passed away at home on June 22, 2016 after a lengthy illness.

He was born Aug. 31, 1952, in Oneonta, the son of Burdette W. and Minnie M. (Roe) Gallup. Bud attended the Worcester Central School, and was a member of United Methodist Church.

He worked all of his life as a carpenter until retirement at which he took great pride in his excellent work.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, dancing, gardening and of course being a flirt. He also did some golfing. He enjoyed his many trips deep sea fishing, to NASCAR races, and trip to Western Unites States, Washington, Oregon, California and Arizona.

He leaves behind, his wife of 13 years, Connie; son, Burdette “Tobey” Gallup II of Schuyler Lake; daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Keith Harrington of Oneonta; six grandchildren, Cassie, Brianna, Dalton, Ethan, Lillian and Evelyn; one great-grandson, Xander, all of whom he loved dearly.

Also surviving are three sisters, Priscilla Davis of East Worcester, Joanne and William Fisher of East Worcester, and Bunnie and Jack Hand of Oneonta; brother-in-law Russell Hoag and niece, Kimberly Nelson of North Carolina; many cousins, nieces and nephews, half sisters and half brothers in New Hampshire.

He also leaves behind his many good friends and good times. He lived life to the fullest and will be greatly and sadly missed.

He was predeceased by his parents and step-dad; his first wife, Beth Gallup, and infant son Richard.
There will be no calling hours.

A memorial service will be 1 p.m., Tuesday, June 28, at the Heller & Skinner Funeral Home, 155 Main St., Worcester, with the Rev. Lynn Shepard, officiating.

Interment will follow at the Maple Grove Cemetery in Worcester.
