In his leisure he enjoyed motorcycling, hunting, fishing and most of all being “Papa” to his six loving grandchildren and watching them grow.

Tooley, husband David and two daughters,  Emily and Elizabeth of Cooperstown; Michael Stringer, wife Jennifer of Cooperstown, and two sons Colton and Dylan; and Bryan Stringer and wife Stephanie of Oneonta, and daughter Cora and son Mason; their mother and his former wife, Monica Talarico, and husband Samuel, of Springfield Center; a sister, Cheryl Ann DeVinny Miller and husband John, of Tennessee; a sister-in-law, Lorraine Stringer of Belton, Texas, and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a brother, William “Bill” D. Stringer, who died April 11, 2015, and his parents Ellen and Francis Stringer.
