Cooperstown Flagpole Rededicated Tomorrow

At noon tomorrow (Thursday), the Village of Cooperstown will rededicate the new 50-foot aluminum flagpole installed today at Main and Pioneer. The Cooperstown Veterans Club will participate in the dedication, and donors who contributed to the new staff will be honored, according to Village Administrator Teri Barown.  Public welcome to attend.  The 35-foot flagpole it replaces was removed on Sept. 20 to make way for the reconstruction of Pioneer Street, completed in recent days.  There’s been a flagpole at that site since 1917, when a wooden one was raised during World War I.  (Jim Kevlin/AllOTSEGO.com)
