IN MEMORIAM: DeEtte Houck Pratt, 95;
Toddsville Native Survived By 4 Children
Toddsville native DeEtte Houck Pratt, 95, passed away Jan. 24, 2017, at Hartville Care Center, Hartville, Mo., after a short illness.
She was born Nov. 22, 1921, in Toddsville, the daughter of Lee and Winifred Aylesworth Houck, and graduated from Cooperstown High School in 1940. She was the wife of 65 years to Benjamin F. Pratt Jr.
She was a Sunday school teacher for over 40 years. She was a 65-year member and a Noble Grand of the Interlocken Rebekah Lodge #92 in Averill Park, Rensellaer County.
She enjoyed cooking, singing, visiting her Sisters that lived in Toddsville, Caroline Trinkaus, Elizabeth Ross and Edna Bliss.
Survivors include two daughters, Ruth (Joe Schultz) of Averill Park and Regina (Paul Vanderbogart) of Mansfield Mo.; two sons, Robert (Tracey) of East Chatham and Russell (Jill) of Averill Park; 13 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a son, Benjamin F. Pratt III, and sisters of the late Adelbert and Floyd Houck, Edna Bliss, Elizabeth Ross, Virginia Small and Caroline Trinkaus.
The funeral was Jan. 30 at the West Stephentown Baptist Church. Burial will be at Hillside Cemetery, West Stephentown.
