Democrats In Albany

Considering Final Nail

In Common Core Coffin

Remember: In March 2015, some 100 parents packed a Cooperstown Central school board meeting to protest Governor Cuomo’s plan to use Common Core testing to assess teacher performance. Parent Kim Jastremski, above, said there was an “atmosphere of fear” at the elementary school. In the end, the governor and school boards across the county backed off the concept. Now, with Democrats in control of the state Legislature in Albany, the state may be joining a nationwide movement to remove standardized testing from teacher evaluations, the New York Times is reporting today.
