IN MEMORIAM: Dolores A. Cahill;

Spent 50 Years With Salvation Army

SIDNEY – Dolores A. Cahill, who spent a half-century with the Salvation Army, passed away peacefully at home on April 3, 2018 in Sidney.

She was born in Queens, the daughter of Paul and Eleanor (Shields) Patane.  Dolores attended Julia Richman High School in New York City.

She worked for the Salvation Army Headquarters in New York City and later for the Salvation Army School for Officers Training in Suffern.  She was an administrative assistant for this organization for over 50 years, retiring in 1992.

She loved all her dogs and flowers, especially roses.

Dolores is survived by her daughters, Katherine and husband Kevin Lundy of Watertown, and Barbara and husband Arthur Torrey, Jr. of Oneonta; granddaughter Erica and husband, Christopher Slonaker, and great-granddaughter, Grace; grandson Adam and is wife, Jessica Torrey, of Westford, Mass., and great-grandchildren Jackson and Charlotte.

She was predeceased by her husband, Peter M. Cahill and her sister, Gloria Anderson Edwards.

Her family would like to thank all her caregivers for their compassion over the years.

The funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Friday, April 6, at the Lewis, Hurley & Pietrobono Funeral Home, 51 Dietz St., Oneonta, with the Rev. Paul Messner, officiating.

The interment will be private at Glenwood Cemetery, Oneonta.
