Invited To Speak

Before Congress

COOPERSTOWN – Paula DiPerna, global environmental policy strategist and former Congressional candidate from Otsego County, was invited to testify before the Committee on Natural Resources at a hearing entitled “Climate Changer: The Impacts and the Need To Act” on Wednesday, Feb. 6 at the Longworth House Office Building in Washington, DC.
A special advisor at CDP North America, DiPerna will have five minutes to present oral testimony to the congressional committee, with the opportunity to submit a longer written statement. Members of the committee will have five minutes to comment and ask questions of DiPerna.
CDP runs a global disclosure system that enables companies, cities, states and regions to measure and manage their environmental impacts.
Last June, attending a special Vatican conference of environmental leaders in Rome, she discussed climate change and other environmental issues with Pope Francis.
The invitation was extended by Arizona representative Raúl Manuel Grijalva, D-3, committee chair.
