Helen T. Rittlinger, 91

July 3, 1930 – April 6, 2022

ONEONTA – Helen T. Rittlinger, 91, of Oneonta passed away on Wednesday, April 6 at the AO Fox Memorial Hospital in Oneonta.

She was born on July 3, 1930 in Worcester, N.Y., the daughter of Charles and Ada Bell (Burton) Morrell. She married Donald Rittlinger on August 6, 1944. He pre-deceased her on July 15, 2006.

Helen was a homemaker and member of St. Mary’s Church, Oneonta. She was also a social member of Pindars Corner Fire Department.

She is survived by her two sons, Edward Rittlinger of Southwest Harbor, Maine, and Kenneth and Deborah Rittlinger of Oneonta. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Matthew and Cindy Rittlinger of Oneonta, Terry Jean and James Pikka of Antigo, Wis., and Steven and Chona Ebare of Fla.; her great grandchildren, Bryanna Belle Rittlinger, Emily, Matthew, and Ryan Pikka, Michelle and Jessica Ebare, Nathen Robinson, and Christian Ebare; one brother, Blondie Morrell; two sisters, Pearl Loucks, and Anna Leonard; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Helen was also predeceased by her son, Cpl. Donald A. Rittlinger, daughter-in-law, Loretta Rittlinger, and her brother in law, Kenneth Rittlinger.

A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, April 21, 2022 at 10 am at St. Mary’s Church with Rev. David Mickiewicz officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Emmons.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Pindars Corner Fire Department, 8898 State Highway 23, Oneonta, NY 13820, or to St. Mary’s Church, 39 Walnut Street, Oneonta, NY 13820.

Arrangements are by the Lester R. Grummons Funeral Home, Oneonta.
