Hole Being Dug Today,

Flagpole Follows Soon

This morning, Rob Mulligan of Mulligan Excavating, Cooperstown, is digging a hole, 5-foot, 8-inches deep, to accommodate a new flagpole at Main and Pioneer in downtown Cooperstown to replace the one removed during the just-completed $1.2 million reconstruction of Pioneer Street, which ended yesterday.  He said he was told the new pole will be put in place by Thursday.  Inset, Village Public Works Superintendent Mitch Hotaling checks the flagpole at the village barn on Linden Avenue, in anticipation of the installation.  (Parker Fish, Jim Kevlin/AllOTSEGO.com)
