Raised In Edmeston, Employed By NYCM

Barbara Emhof

EDMESTON – Barbara Ann Bessenbacher Emhof, 71, who was raised in Edmeston and worked for NYCM Insurance, passed away on Aug. 23, 2019, in Anderson, S.C., where she lived in recent years.

Barb was born on Oct. 29, 1947, in Great Neck, Long Island, the daughter of Joseph A. and Mildred (Mapes) Bessenbacher. Her childhood was spent in Edmeston. She was a graduate of Edmeston Central School and Forest Junior College.

On May 16, 1970, Barb married Robert Ernest Emhof (high school sweethearts, they had known each other since 1955) at McKnownville United Methodist Church, Albany.
