IN MEMORIAM:  John L. Tschupp, 76;

Introduced To Elks While In Oneonta

John L. Tschupp

ONEONTA – John L. Tschupp, 76, who joined the Elks while in Oneonta and continued to enjoy lodge membership in Queens and Rockland, Maine, passed away Saturday Feb. 23, 2019, in Chestnut Park Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, after a brief illness.

He was born March 25, 1942, in Brooklyn, the son of the late Charles and Mary B. (Cronin) Tschupp. He attended Manhattan College.

John was employed by Commercial Union & Royal Insurance as a commercial underwriter. Following that, John continued on his own as an independent consultant, until his retirement in 1976.

During his brief time in Oneonta, John made many friends and enjoyed spending time with them at the Oneonta Elks Lodge where he enjoyed membership, as well as in Rockland, Maine and Queens. John had a unique sense of humor and enjoyed life to the fullest.

He is survived by his brother, Charles (Marylou) of East Meadow; his sister Patricia (Frank) Sacco of Arkville; and two very dear nephews Michael and Charles.

John was predeceased by a sister, Mary Ann in 1984.

A Committal Service will take place in Calvary Cemetery, Woodside, New York, at the convenience of the family.
