Dairy Farmer In Otego For 44 Years

MOUNT VISION – Kenneth C. Barron, 84, formerly of Otego, retired dairy farmer, passed away peacefully on July 13, 2016, at Fox Hospital.

He was born on Sept. 4, 1931, in Pennsylvania, the son of William and Mary (Hyatt) Barron.

Ken was a dairy farmer for 44 years.

He is survived by his son Marvin (Vickie) Barron of Mount Vision, grandson Jonathon Barron of Otego, granddaughter Amanda Barron of Otego, and great-grandchildren Hailey, Adrianna, Kayden and Cameron of Otego; daughter Joan (Bill) Barron-Pudney and their family of Clyde, sons Donald (Cindy) Barron and their family of Red Creek, Robert Barron, and Charles Barron of Auburn; brothers Richard (Barb) Barron of Groton, Dave (Sandy) Barron of Elmira, sisters June (Mike) Barron-Carroll of Cortland, and Shirley Barron-Royce of Ithaca.

He was predeceased by his parents, his brother Bill Barron, Jr., and his sister Gertrude Barron-Reeves.

OTEGO—Our beloved Mary (Shultis) Carson, 89, of Otego, New York, died peacefully at home on November 22, 2023. While we miss her dearly, her light and her love will shine on in our hearts.
Mary was born in Oneonta on June 6, 1934 to Gertrude (Champlin) and Francis Edmund Shultis. A lifetime resident of Otego, she graduated from Otego Central School in 1952. Mary met the love of her life, John Carson, when they were juniors in high school, and they married on September 13, 1952. Seventy-one years later, John will tell you that he chose her then and he would choose her today. Together, they raised four children, all educated in the Otego area.…
