Leatherstocking Golf Club to offer
summer programs for kids, couples

The Otesaga’s Leatherstocking Golf Course is offering two summer programs, one for kids and one for couples.

The Leathertocking Golf Club Little Swingers Golf Program is to provide a foundation of skills, etiquette and knowledge for a lifetime of enjoyment of the game for players age 7 or 8.

The cost is $200 per player and includes four team practice sessions, two mini putt-putt matches, two on-course experience and one individual half hour golf lesson, which must be made by appointment.

The program is separate from the PGA Junior League.

Practices will be scheduled Saturdays.

The practice schedule is: Saturday, July 10, July 17, July 31 and Aug. 7.

Meet at the north end of the driving range.

Team matches will be held Sunday, July 11 (putt-putt championships); Sunday, July 18 (on the course experience); Sunday, Aug. 1 (on the course experience), and Sunday, Aug. 8 (putt-putt championships.

All team matches will meet at the Leatherstocking Golf Shop.

Tee times will start around 6 p.m., each week.

Parents are welcome and encouraged to come watch their junior golfers play.

Fridays to feature couples play Starting Friday, July 2, the Leatherstocking Golf Course will allow couple’s play. The program will continue through Friday, Aug. 27.

There will be no play Friday, Aug. 6.

Play begins at 5 p.m. each Friday.

Sign up as a couple by calling the pro shop, which will then assign pairings. There will be fun formats each week.

Divorce nights will be held Friday, July 16, and Friday, Aug. 13. Players will be required to play a “Chapman Scotch alternate shot” with their spouses.

The cost is $42 per team per event to cover the cost of carts and prizes. Carts are required.

Results will be announced each week following play on the Leatherstocking Grill patio. Call 607-544-2546 for more information.
