Nice Day For Winter Race!

Runners Devin Merkley and Andrew Rock rush neck and neck to the finish line for third place at the Frozen Five-Mile Race at the Clark Sports Center in Cooperstown earlier today. Rock, who snatched third place by just inches, admits that he didn’t realize Merkley was trailing him until the final stretch. “I took my time and didn’t know he was that close. I thought he was further back. I told myself that I better get back to my normal pace,” he said. Though billed as a winter run, with temperatures in the mid-50s runners felt comfortable showing up in shorts. (James Cummings/AllOTSEGO.com)
