Family Escapes To Safety

In Butternuts House Fire

BUTTERNUTS – A Butternuts family escaped a house fire earlier this evening, reported Kristin Strong, senior dispatcher, Otsego County 911.

The call came into Otsego County 911 at 7:14 p.m. this evening from the residents, who had all escaped the house without injury and called 911, she said.

Fire companies from Mt. Upton, Gilbertsville, Unadilla, Wells Bridge and Morris all responded to the scene. Fire fighters are still on the scene, but Strong said the fire has been knocked down.

The cause of the fire is still being determined.
